Wall clearance 800 amp panel

The general contractor for a job is indicating a new wall with a three foot clearance from a 3-phase, 208Y/120V panel rated for 800 amps.

Does this actually meet code?

Yes it does. The minimum space required for working clearance depends on the voltage level, not the current rating. For under 150 volts to ground (and in your example the voltage to ground is 120), you need a minimum of 3 feet.

Actually, you could get by with 35.5 inches. The table gives the limit as 900 mm, and provides an estimated value for the conversion to English Engineering Units as 36 inches. ;) :grin:
