Wall mounted telephone outlet

My colleague in the IT side of the business informs me that 48 inches above finished floor is a common location, but he doubts there is a code or standard that actually calls for any specific height.

what is the standard height for a wall mounted telephone outlet?
Assuming you mean the telephone is wall mounted, I'd go with 5'. Not a standard, but a keypad at 4' is difficult to use for most people. I would mount at 4' if I knew a wheelchaired person, or little person resided there.

I would say twelve inches to the center if it's resi. 15 inches to the bottom of the box if it commercial. If it's wall mount I would say the same height as the counter recepts if it's resi. What ever the ADA says if it's commercial
