wall receptacles

does any one have any information on the proper placement of wall receptacles? Besides aesthetic is there any requirement stating that the ground plug on a three prong outlet be facing down, and not up?

There is no such rule. You are free to do it either way.

Let me suggest that you do a word search on this Forum, and read the many discussions that we have had. To prevent this from turning into another long discussion, I am going to close it now.
