I have a large warehouse that has 6 combination A/C units on the roof that serve as the air conditioning for the space. My question is this, is this considered a plenum air space as the whole warehouse is a return? We have cable tray installed and want to make sure we put the right cable in place. There is a ton of old cable and 95% of it is Riser rated.
Thanks for the input.

300.22(A) & (B) do not apply and 300.22(C) is clear that the area in question is exempted.

300.22(C) Other Space Used for Environmental Air. This section applies to space used for environmental air-handling purposes other than ducts and plenums as specified in 300.22(A) and (B). It does not include habitable rooms or areas of buildings, the prime purpose of which is not air handling. :)

If it did, every building's interior would have to be included.
