we supply, install, and maintain exterior lawn lights (rab qf500f) at about 15 different locations. snow drifts and persons clearing snow buried these to varying degrees. needless to say several have exploded. my customer is hinting he has no intention of paying for replacement fixtures. this could go either way, what do you think?

What does storm and plowing damage have to do with a warranty? if you maintain them, do you have a contract in place to do repairs? and that contract should describe just what you will do and any exceptions.

Rod, ask him what you or the manufacturer could possibly do, or have done, to avoid the damage.

I would say If they were damaged by people as far as shoveling plowing walking on them it would be no if the damage is just caused by the snow I would say yes you are liable . How to prove that can be a little tricky
