Washer outlet distance

A small commercial tenant finish. A washing machine was installed. What, if any, is the maximum distance from the recep to the washer. I know in a dwelling unit it is 6'. Thanks for your help. Ron

I would not install the outlet further than what the washer cord would reach.

Neither would I. However, I red tagged an installation cuz the washer cord was plugged into a 15' or so extension cord. So, I need to try to cover my self.

210.50(C) require the receptacle to be within 6 feet for the residential appliance. 400.8 (1) prohibits flexible cords to be used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure.
