my tub wall backs up to the washer on the back side of the wall. you cant see the plug from the bathroom. it is in the laundry room that is on the opposite side of the bathroom wall. Can this be. Not sure of the code on this one. The shower stall was on this wall and the plumbing was running right next to the box. I have no way of moving the washer box.

You can have the washer in the bathroom if you want. Is there a door between the washer and the bathroom itself? If not a gfci receptacle would be needed.

The plug is in the laundry room. The tub is in the bath room. Two separate rooms separated by a wall. I have installed panels that were in the garage but it so happened the opposite side of that wall was a master bath.
