When doing an optional calc.for a duplex and they ask you to compare it to two dwelling units
Art.220.33 how do I do that?

What you do is first perform the standard calculation method for the two dwelling units. Next, perform the optional method as permitted in 220.32 for mutifamily dwellings and "pretend" you have three units instead of the "real" two. Whatever calculation allows the smaller service is permitted to be used.

This is really a load from WA state of all the questions they chose this.even the NEC doesen't give an example in annex D.however there are alot of "duplexes" in this state.but I think there's more "double-wides".so why don't they come up with more of those questions?
