I am just starting to prep for this test and would like to know what to expect for the admin test. I was told WAC and NEC 2005.
Anyone with other info?

Thanks

When I took the test (several years ago), a big part was load calculations (per NEC 220). Another part was the WAC rules related to licensing, fees, fines, and disciplinary actions. Another was safety rules (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, lock-out-tag-out, etc.). And of course, anything in the NEC itself is fair game. Good luck. However, I took the general (01) exam, not the limited energy version. So I really can't tell you what will be different in your exam.

Keep in mind Washington is changing its test format about March 1st, they will to to PSI, and instead of 5 tests, every test will be random, and will change to the 2008 NEC
And as of Oct last year, you must wait 2 weeks to retake if you fail.
Take a look at the exam information in the WAC, if you are not familiar with that, then perhaps a review of the WAC is in order. Every certification exam includes 17 questions on the RCW/WAC
Washington tests are open book, the concept is to give you questions on material you might not typically find on the job and see how you do with it.

I hope you do better on the test than you did trying to find the PDF off of L & I website.

This link will show you the Exam Content Outline.

What is that supposed to mean? If its a lame attempt to be funny I am not taking it as such. I came here to ask a serious question and would like the same respect in an answer. Its comments like this that will just drive people away.

I haven't taken the limited energy so I don't know what they want for that part of the test. The NEC part should be easy. The WAC isn't to hard if you can read fast. The WAC and RCW are not layed out overly well so it's difficult to find the one obscure fact they want you to find for some of the test questions. I found the WAC and NEC parts of the test to be the same as what was on the journey test.

Yeah, it probably was a lame attempt at illustrating what a little research can do. I apologize for the sarcasm. I, myself, am interested in taking a similar exam in Wa. St. I had to do some digging around to find it and hope that you will benefit from the information.
