Im taking my Washington state 01 license exam in a few days and am curious if anyone has tips regarding these documents and this section of the exam. I am not local but am relocating shortly. I recently took and passed the Rhode Island journeyman electrician exam which is closed book and the entire NEC is fair game, so I’m not too worried about that portion of the Washington exam. Mostly I’m unfamiliar with these two documents and am looking for insight for navigating them and finding answers quickly.

Thanks

I found the exam rather easy. The WAC and RCW stuff is quite dry and boring, mostly administrative stuff, so I didn't bother studying . Just bring a copy of the documents and you can look up the answers .

The WAC is easy to find the answers as it’s divided up into sections. The RCW is hard to find what you are looking for
Go to the L&I electrical webpage and get all the current versions and insert pages
The monthly Currents newsletter has a monthly question. I suspect these questions are pulled from RCW/WAC NEC questions so study those

The test is all open book. A firms finder or Uglys is useful.
The test company, PSI , has an exam candidate bulletin that is helpful.

I’ve gone to the LnI website and printed off what I am assuming are the current versions of both documents. Do I also need to print the insert pages? Or are they already included in the document I downloaded and printed. I just want to make sure I have everything I need in front of me at test time.

Now subscribe to our informative Currents from the Chief Electrical Inspector. The code picture of the month is a real eye opener
