Watch battery powered pit gauge

I'm a mechanical engineer so I'm not too familar with NEC. I'm trying to validate to use of a new product (watch battery powered pit gauge) in a possible class-1 div-1 location. Does anyone have any knowledge that could help me? Thanks.

The main thing you need to know is if the power source is capable of delivering enough energy to cause ignition of the material creating the classified area. Even then, if it can not ignite the material, likely need a NRTL listing before NEC will recognize it that way.
