We have two 480v/25HP/3ph Water Booster Pumps in a 14FTx14FT pump house. Water piping with 100psi is in the room. Control Panels and panelboards are in the room.
Where in the NEC does it talk about NEMA ratings for enclosures in this environment?
I have walked into similiar existing water booster stations and saw NEMA-1 and NEMA-12 enlcosures.
I was looking to make all electrical enclosures NEMA-4 since there is always the possibility of a pipe joint leaking and a stream of water shooting across the room.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Re: Water Booster Station Panels

I don't recall that the NEC says anything about selecting the NEMA rating of a panel (although it does have a list of enclosure types and what they are useful for as pointed out by another poster). I think you just have to make a good judgement about what rating they need to be and go with it.

Generally, I think i would not be all that worried about a pipe breaking and splashing water on your panels. NEMA 1 panels provide better protection against water ingress from unintentional splashing than you might think.

I might be a bit more concerned if they were mounted right on the equipment.
