Water fountain disconnect

I have drawings where water fountain disconnect is motor rated switch. I didnt know any water fountain can be direct wired. I thought they all are cord and plug connected. Can anyone shed some light on this?
 
Unless you have cut sheets on the unit you don't know what's allowed. I can see a switch being allowed.
 
Even if it is cord and plug connected, that does not mean you can't have a disconnect switch. Have seen that specified because with some designs, you have to take a cover off to unplug the equipment.
