Water/Gas line bonding

My home is J-shaped. The Main electrical service panel is at the tip of the J. The main water and natural gas lines enter at the top of the J. They originate from separate alleys about 200 yards apart. The water lines are copper pipe in the concrete foundation.
My question is where do I bond both lines to ground? Do I bond the water and gas where they enter the house with a LONG 150 foot (and possibly parallel) run to the main panel? Or, do I bond them as close to the main panel as possible (water very close and gas ~ 30 feet)?

This thread had been temporarily closed. This action was taken because it appeared to be an attempt by a Do It Yourself person to obtain "how-to" information.

In an exchange of Private Messages, the Original Poster has provided assurances that this is not the case. The OP stated that he intends arrange for an electrician to perform the work, and is merely seeking information to assist in planning the project. Therefore, the thread is being reopened. I offer an apology to the OP for the inconvenience and the delay.

I should have worded this more clearly. I would like to know what the correct 2008 code answer for this question should be. This home already exists and i have measured intermittent net current with attendant magnetic fields on both water(copper in foundation) and gas(iron) lines. After reviewing both the Leeper and Riley books I am confused about what is correct for 2008 code vs correct for EMF/net current mitigation. Electricians seem to be unaware of this situation or are indifferent to the safety issues. They seem to "grandfather" anything whether it is or ever was code. This needs correcting and I obviously need to point them in the right direction. Thanks

The water pipe needs bonding within 5 feet of where it enters the building. The gas line does not need special bonding unless it has CSST (gas tubing--yellow stuff) attached to the black pipe. The gas line should be bonded thru the EGC of the branch circuit that feed the gas range, furnace, etc.
