What is the demand factor for a water heater that's rated 4.5kw using the "standard" service calculation method for a single family dwelling?

Is it 100% of the nameplate?

Example
Art 220.82 (B) General load. Uses the "optional method" that allows 100% for the first 10kva plus 40% of the remainder. The name plate rating of the water heater is used in this example.

Re: Water heater load

I see that you are using the 2005 version.

In the standard method, there is no demand factor for a water heater. You use 100% of the nameplate. However, it could count as a ?fastened in place" appliance, per 220.53. So if you have a total of one of four or more (i.e., three others), you could use a 75% factor for the set.
