Water Heater trouble shooting

I have a 50 liter water heater tank, I installed it a year ago.since last week I noticed that the water was not hot. so i took the heating element out and I noticed that it was totally burned out !

I bought a new element and installed it and it burned again in few hours although i took the air out side the tank !

what should I do before I install the new element ? is it possible that there is an air lock in my tank (although I have a strong water pressure coming in) ?
