School project, adding a gym attached by a short corridor to the existing building. They have an addition water service is coming into the far side of the gym building for a sprinkler system fed by a diesel fire pump. Is a grounding electrode conductor required to be ran from the main electrical room some 750+ft away {250.104 (A)(1)(1&2)} or will the equipment grounding conductor suffice{250.104(A)(2)? Or could a bonding jumper of sufficient size be bonded to building steel to make the connection to the grounding electrode system {250.104 (A)(1)(3)?

You might want to review this thread in regard to sprinkler bonding:

If, after reading, you decided to bond, it may be bonded using he building steel per 250.68(C)

Thanks. I want to say that was helpful, but honestly I didn't see any resolve haha. I think will call a local AHJ and run the scenarios by them. I feel the code could be interpreted different ways working for and against the situation. Because it is a school, you could consider as a separate occupancy or structure. There are plenty of ways to spin it.

I heard an instructor once say "You give me a code, and I will show you a legal way to break it."
