Water Pipe

Code says you have to attach to a water pipe within 5'of the entrance of the building.I have a water pipe that enters the block wall and immediately 90s up inside a concealed wall.Then it goes up 6 feet and 90s out above a dropped ceiling.Does the entrance of the building mean when it is first exposed or do I need to cut a hole in the wall and have a box with the connection in it.

I would have to say that it is when it becomes exposed. as I dont think the pipe being in the block wall could be considered inside the building.
but you might want to confer with your local AHJ to get his opinion.
