Is there a minimum distance that water pipes (sprinkler, eyewash, etc) have to be away from transformers or electrical equipment inside a building?

The NEC has nothing to say on that specific topic. It does have clearance requirements and space reservation requirements, but I don?t think that is what you are asking about. For example, the space in front of a panel must be kept clear of all pipes and other interferences. That space is at least 30 inches wide, 36 inches deep, and 78 inches high, and may need to be larger still. Also, the space directly above a panel for a distance of 6 feet higher than the top of the panel cannot have any pipes or ducts, and the space even higher still can only have pipes or ducts if there is a drip shield between them and the top of the panel. But there can be a pipe running directly beside a panel, for example along the same back wall from the floor to the ceiling and within an inch of the side of the panel, so long as the required clearance box I describe above is kept clear.
