I am doing a convenience store with one restroom. a mop sink, a hand sink, a three compartment sink and two water heaters. All water lines were ran underground with plastic piping. All of the above items have copper ran to them connected to the plastic underground at each sink or appliance. The plumber stubbed up plastic at each location. Do I have to bond the copper at every location or is it not considered a "system"

Come to find out the water line from the street was copper so it needed to be bonded. I already had the gas pipe systen bonded and the inspector let me jump from the gas line to the street water main pipe

Well, to be more correct, it qualified as a grounding electrode (250.52(A)(1)) and needed to be included in your Grounding Electrode System (250.50). This is different than the bonding you were contemplating in the original post.

I agree with Bob Peterson. Wiring these in this order is a violation of 250.64(F) and 250.52(B)(1).

The GEC is to run to a grounding electrode, not to a different pipe and then to a grounding electrode. The gas pipe is not allowed to serve as a grounding electrode.

It would be compliant if you were to run to the water pipe first, and then install a bonding conductor to your gas pipe (250.104(B)).

But I'd say your inspector allowed a code violation in this case.
