HO’s house has municipal water service, but there is a well on the property.
Currently the only thing the well is used for is a hydrant to water the horses.
For this, power comes from the house to power the pump motor.
The HO is building a shop structure 400-500’ away from the well.
The shop has a pressure tank in the plans along with toilet and sinks.
The plumbers are getting ready to trench the waterline to the shop from the well.
I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the pressure switch at the shop supplying power to the well pump when there’s already power coming to the well pump from the house?
I know I’m going to have to run some UF from the shop building to the well pump.
Will the pressure tank at the shop located 500’ away from the well pump keep the system (including the existing hydrant) pressurized? Will the power from the house be abandoned?
Thanks for feedback,
