I am curious on a three phase four wire power source, if two legs off a two pole branch circuit breaker a Meter base and an unregistered 240volt "info" meter installed, would the 240 volt "wattmeter" work at all on the 208 volt source without the neutral reference? The proper three phase Meter base and Meter would be $600 plus, while the discarded single phase Meter base is free, and the single phase unregistered Meter is $75. The purpose is not for billing, but to monitor approximate usage.

Thanks again!

If I correctly understand your question, then the answer is no. The voltage and current phase relationships would be wrong.

I believe you are describing a 3 phase wye source, and a single phase watt-hour meter. I believe the meter has two current coils and only one voltage coil. The 240 to 208 is not a big issue, but the phase angle of voltage to current is.
