I have a building that has a common room for everyone to shower and use the bathroom. Iit has sinks for washing also. Is it necessary to put gfi and weatherproof covers on all switches and recepticiles. This is a commerical building. Can't pin point it in the code.

It is a dwelling unit with sinks, showers and toilets. It is quite large. It also has vent fans for exhausting.

Just make sure it is a safe design. They definetly have to be GFCI but some times a GFCI will fail.
If it is a very wet floor area you will want to minimize all power outlets and switches.
However you may have some codes that require them. Their are variations, though.
