I swear I've seen the "horizontal" version of this coverplate:

I have a client with single gang boxes set in brick horizontally, and he wants the halogen floodlight fixtures replaced. I was going to add two medium sockets to each cover plate, and install PAR36 outdoor floodlights. Easier to change a lamp than a whole fixture when the LEDs die, I figure.

Was it all a fever dream, or does someone make the "horizontal" version?

But I'm stuck with single-gang plastic boxes set in the brick facade of the building, horizontally. I can waterjet some adapter plates out of 1/4" aluminum if I have to, but I'd really rather not.

The horizontal version does not exist as the holes would interfere with the screws. I would look at other fixtures, maybe there is some LED wallpack that would work nicely. Alot of options out there as I am sure you know.

Oh, I know... but convincing the client is another thing. It might come down to the adapter plates. He certainly has the deep pockets for it.

Ok, ive got it (i think) with the right lampholder (ie: raco bell 5606), and acceptance of somewhat limited range of motion, I think lampholder screwed into a single gang extender ring with threaded hubs like a raco bell 5399 or 5412 would work. Maybe. Have to waste $12 and try it.

We can, and if it's crazy complicated we have a good relationship with a machinist who "gets" what we do. PM me and let me know what you need.
