Contractor was installing new siding on a house over the old, and wanted me to fix a receptacle that wasn't working. It was connected to a garage receptacle but neither was ever fed.

I took the box out of the wall and cut the hole bigger so I could reach in to grab a cable I would be fishing in.

Went in the attic to run it, and heard a nail gun in the vicinity. Came down to find out he couldn't wait 15 minutes for me to get done. He decided to cut the hole in the new siding and nail it on so he could get out of my way 🙄

Time for an Arlington product.

We went to a residential job site to connect permanent power. GC was POd that he would loose power for a bit and let me know. We shut power off sooner than later because then I was POd. AHs. They think only their time has value.

I once dropped a small tree on a guys truck because he wanted to be a smartass and told me I should be able to miss his truck.
I could have, but I didn't miss it and I told him not my problem I asked you to move it and you refused. Too bad....

Hole needs to be filled with a non combustible material or your box will need to protrude from the siding (is it's wood). But that's not a weatherproof box so you're really going to just want to repair the hole. Perhaps a spray foam product and once it cures cut off the excess and glue a piece of the siding on.

Or perhaps, as another gentleman mentioned, you could use a product from the number one Foul-up fixer product company, Arlington.

Does he own a ruler?
If he's going to screw you over at least do a good job.

How well did that go over?
He wasn't real happy about it but I had asked him to move it. Several others there told him that I had asked him to move and he acted like a smartass about it and said I should be able to drop it without hitting his truck.

I think OP cut larger hole to get his hand in easier, then they made a hole same size in the new siding before the box was installed, though it looks like they made it a little higher than the original hole was.

Yup.
Then I came and saw how big the hole was, chewed him out because I can't get a cut-in box there now. Wire is fished in, but no clamps in a nail-on box

I guess I'll cut the guy some slack if the box wasn't in place yet. But not much.
Like someone else posted time for an Arlington Inbox.

I didn't cut him any slack because he could have just waited a few minutes, or start on the next wall. This little wall was only 5 feet left to right, with the next wall to the left 🙄
Once again proof that electricians are the Rodney Dangerfield of the trades. No Respect.

Wish I could have seen that. 🤣
