I was trying to remember if we allowed this the last time, and where that thread was?

It borders on solicitation, so I forget how we handled that.

On the front page of MH's web page there is in the index on the left side, Links and Affilliate programs where you can see some of the posters here including the commerical side of things...

You'll have to read some of the individuals profiles here and if they linked one in their profile you can go, if they don't state it in your thread.

There was quite a long thread on the old site, many years ago. I remember it clearly, because I've been looking for a website I found in that thread from an EC in the Philly area that had cartoon type graphics ever since. I can't find that thread or the website I was looking for.

Thanks.....I have been avoiding service work for years and have never advertised, but have recently started doing a lot more of it and thought maybe a webpage might help fill up the week for a full time service man.

By the way...480sparky....really nice site.

I just recently created a website, but I am an engineer, not a contractor (well, mostly).

I went the cheap route through real web host and used one of their templates and modified it.

Still working on it but it is coming along OK.

My wife pays the bills so I am not sure of the cost but it was on the order of less than $10 per year for the domain name, $15 for the web builder and less than $15 per month to host the site. Wish I could give you the real numbers, just don't recall since the Mrs. initially set it up and I forget now.

I will put a link in my profile since they aren't allowed here (for good reasons, not complaining).

I have one, too. PJ's daughter set it up. As with just about everything, it's a work in progress, as evidenced by some of the pictures, such as our friendly staff.

Our first site was done by me, in pure raw HTML code, and you can see it if you add /old to the address of the new one, which is on my public profile page.

My ".info" domain was $2 in 2007, now they want 10x that for renewal. Sort of a delayed bait & switch. Perhaps an order of magnitude $ more each year until it lapses.

My idea was to ask clients to print invoice / contract from website, but few have time for browsing, much less a printer. I thought everybody had internet, but am startled by the universal adversity to computers.

My clients are often the wiser and school me in one way or another. Perhaps, because I hold out my hand and wear my hard-knock bruises on my sleeve like proud tattoos.
