Hi, My electrician pulled THWN-2 Aluminum wire for a planned 60A service which will be used for a welder and/or EV super charger. I'm having trouble finding a 14-60R that accepts 2 AWG wire so guessing I need to splice a copper 4 AWG and then use that for the outlet? (The wire is about 120' from the panel).
Other question is.. can I use the same line/box for both applications or will I need a seperate one for each?
Last quesiton is.. the wire currently exits the wall inside a plastic box. Will I need something more substantial for the welder outlet (such as a metal j-box, perhaps even with it's own breaker)? This is all in the same "room" (the garage). I'm not sure why I'd want/need a redundant breaker, but I'm not an expert at these levels of power.
Thanx in advance for any advice you can offer
