welding cable

Can you use type K #2 welding cable for Feeders out of a transformer or a 100 amp service panel.
If not why. I need the flexibility. Thanks peps

You can only use a wire type that is found in Table 310.4 or 400.4. Some welding cable is dual marked with a wire type found in Table 310.4. There are also flexible power cables in Table 400.4, including a type "W" that many seem to think is welding cable, but it is not.
Note that you need to use connectors listed for the finely stranded flexible conductors if you use them. Also you need to use the NEC ampacities as most of the manufacturer ampacities are based on free air and 90°C.

When we need flexible conductors for permanent wiring applications, we use Type W with a dual rating of RHH/RHW (Chapter 3 wiring method) along with terminations for fine stranded conductors.
