OK, I admit it, I'm one of those know-nothing GCs, but I'm woman enuf to ask, so here's the Q.

Got a decorator who wants us to install light sconces on a wall above a bathroom jaccuzzi. I haven't been able to find the exact code that makes this a no-no,:-? but i'd sure as heck hate to see some ding-bat stand up in a wet tub to change a light bulb.

Seems there should be a good code I can throw at the decorator explaining why we shouldn't do that. Depending on you boys to show me the page :D

Thanks.

Looks like they won't get the chandelier they want, but the wall sconces are in a gray area. Oh heck, gonna have to disturb my EC's vacation or brave calling the electrical inspector.

Not really.

Wall sconces are allowed if they are listed for the conditions they are subject to.

If they where subject to shower spray they would have to be wet location listed. If they will be subject to humid air then they will have to be damp location listed.
