I had an Inspector tell me I had to show that my flush can above the shower was wet location rated? I thought the framed arera above the shower was neither damp or wet? I typicly put the lights in these locations on a gfi for good measure and the trim is non conductive. any help would be appriciated

Re: wet location flushcans?

I doubt the construction above the ceiling is a damp location, it is the trim that would be rated not the can otherwise all the construction above the ceiling would have to be built to withstand the moisture not just the can. Take a look at the can you are using, it should have a label showing it is approved to be used with your trim and thus is listed.

I think every can on the market now is rated for damp locations. Most also specifically state what type of trim is suitable for use over a shower. Either way the can itself installed in the ceiling above the shower is not subject to being in a wet location.
