In a pool wet niche light, the grounding post is basically that, only a "post" with a screw in the end of it. I assume I need to install a ring terminal on the stranded # 8 ground wire in order to secure it ? Also, I have ordered 'Aquabond' to seal this connection. Any suggestions ? Thank you !

Some have a lug, but if a screw, a ring connector will work. I'm not familiar with "Aquabond", is that a listed potting compound?
Also, there should be a lug on the outside for the equipotential bond.

Yes, the outside is bonded with a solid #8. I hope Aquabond is a listed compound, I saw it when I was looking for that compound on line.
Thank you.

I have not seen a direct burial "ring connector" for connecting a #8 solid on a wet niche

I just pigtail the #8 going around an inground pool with a DB burndy and land the wire in the post and tighten the set screw.

I believe he is referring to the #8 on the inside of the wet niche.
