Recently had to run a new pool light wire and 8awg bonding wire through my PVC conduit in order to move the J Box it was going into about 3 feet further. I've managed to hook everything up correctly. I bought 3M Scotchcast potting compound but I guess I expected this to be able to work underwater and it says it needs to dry for 4 hours before being wet.

Is there any potting compounds out there that can be used underwater, or do I need to drain my pool to below light level in order to use this? I'm just worried about the pool plaster deteriorating in the sun being exposed like that. Also, where do I use this? Is it mean to cover the bonding connection, or do I use it to try to prevent water from the pool form entering the conduit that holds the wires...or both?

Thanks for your advice!

Pool wiring is not something for a DIY to work on. Mike Holt once said he would not swim in a pool with underwater lights. I recommend you remove any lights and associated wiring. Forum rules prevent us from assisting DIYers, as we don’t know what else you are not asking.
