Whoops. If the wikipedia article is correct, and I read it carefully, then most 'services' in North America are type 'TN-C-S'.
Correct. And in Europe, and in the rest of the world. Though in the USA you are mandated by the NEC to use TN-C-S in <600V (I think) situations; in most juristictions you have a choice.
There is nothing wrong with any of the earthing systems as described by the IEC, and which someone has documented on the Wikipedia page, but you cant have a TT source and expect TN-C-S style protection mechanisms to protect against shock or fire.
