After a discussion at my church about what color lights to retrofit everything to I started wondering if there is a resource with recommended colors. Also what do you guys use for a bar, display, classroom, hallway, science lab (in school), garage, gym ect.
Thanks

This is the rule I use

Homes = Soft White (2700K – 3000K) (mostly 3000k)
Offices = Cool White (3500K – 4100K)
Warehouses = Daylight (5000K – 6500K).

For churches, the linear fluorescent type called "Spec 35" is a 3500K color temperature that is not as yellow/red as Warm White but not as blue as Cool White. I am very fond of it, except for the high cost as it is a low demand type. To me the color is ideal for lighting the sanctuary, as well as classrooms and offices.
An alternative only where the fixture is not directly visible would be to pair WW and CW tubes to get an intermediate appearance.
