What does an Electrician or Installer look for in a Design Package?
Some look at it briefly and then toss it .Some follow it meticulously.
I think its just a general guide unless you are doing something really tricky or out of the box.
But here's the kicker. If you send a lousy design document ( which may or may not be used) what does that say about your commitment to the Project? And what does that say of your respect to the Tradesman? So you're bound to putting out a good package. one way or another.

Speaking as someone who has had to bid on many architectuals , we look for the reality of it being applicable to the physical world.

Some anecdotals.....?

Installing 9 tons of pipe/wire across a century old roof.....

Installing wall sconces @ 63" AFF

800' runs of feeders ,which do not consider VD on 3' of paper

and that's ....just....ONE trade

it's called inserting an xref, or a block.
it's half a dozen mouse clicks, and cutting and pasting boilerplate
in most of the stuff i end up looking at.

it's how the electrical for a 2,500 sq. ft. retail food court occupancy
ends up being 31 pages.

often, it resembles about as much of what you are going to
do as the picture on the TV dinner box matches the food inside.
