What gauge appliance wire for a dishwasher?

I just added a GFCI outlet under my sink for my dishwasher.
The GFCI outlet is connected to a 20 amp breaker (12 gauge wire).
What size appliance wire should I use to connect the dishwasher to the GFCI outlet via a plug?
I can find 14 gauge appliance wire but not 12 gauge appliance wire.
Dishwasher is listed at 11 amps, is 14 gauge appliance wire acceptable?
