What happen to my POST??

I've seen a thread get locked, unlocked for a "certain" user to post and locked again. Another one which has been mentioned by others is a moderator locks a thread after they have the last word.

The thread was moved to the "Relocation Forum," an area accessible only to the Moderators. I wasn't the one who moved it, but I had thought of closing it. My reason (if someone else had not beat me to the draw) would have been that it had no hope of avoiding crossing the line beyond "fun and jest" and into "someone's feelings are going to get hurt." Indeed I saw some posts that had started down that path.

Can we take a vote allowing members with over, say, 8,000 posts access to the Relocation Forum?

Well thanks for responding. I never meant to be an 'instrument' of 'hurting someones feelings'. Like i said, i was actually giving the regular contributors a compliment.

The thing i have issue is that i have seen other 'posts' where it seems that someone responded rather ruffly and could have 'hurt' someone feelings.

I try not to take too much of this internet stuff personally, seeing how i probably will never meet any of them anyway. ;)

Gee whiz. Next I suppose that they will be wanting access to the "Moderator Only Forum"! Give em an inch, and they will take 2.54 centimeters.

I know that. But it often happens that one joke turns into another joke, and before anyone knows what went wrong the jokes are no longer funny. As I said, I don't know who moved the thread or why, but I do support that person's decision.

I moved the thread. This is an electrical forum, not a general discussion forum. As a rule we do not let people start a new thread that is not related to the electrical trade.

Discussions are supposed to be "encased" around the "topic" and those not well "grounded" are found to be "stubbing" out of the discussion and subject to different rules/nomenclature. This is a fact.

Is that so?

yeah, but we make exceptions on holidays like Christmas, veterans day, Independence day, Thanksgiving, Easter, my birthday, etc.....

Wait a minute-- this thread has nothing to do with electrical.
