According to NEC, room air conditioner must adopt LCDI or AFCI from the next year.

I wonder what is difference between GFCI and LCDI?

Are they the same one?

Re: What is LCDI?

Leakage-current Detection Interupter. This device is usually a integral part of a cord-and-plug assembly that detects line to ground current that is not exactly assoicated with an actual ground-fault. It is actualy more related to an AFCI, and will probably be taken over by this technology in the next coming years. 2002 - 440.65
