When you have a pendent fixture, there is a c clip that keeps the cord (18-3 sjt) from sliding through the canopy.

I need to find these clips on the internet.

What is the name of these clips?

Thanks

ps - I know about the overhand knot but for my use the clips will work better.

The part is called a strain relief. Here is one example:

Do a Goggle search for "strain relief" for more options.

You mean wrapping a half of role of electrical tape around the cord to preventing from passing through the mount strap hole is an unaccepatable practice? ;)

I believe the OP is talking about a small metal ring in the shape of a "C" that gets squeezed onto a pendent cord. I would try a lighting supply company that carries fixture parts.
The clamp needs to be in place usually down by the socket so that the shade and socket are not putting stress on the connection. Up above in the canopy I would tie a knot in the cord.

I don't think I've ever run across these little bushings any where else than in the manufacturer completed assembly of a pendant fixture.

Cool.

400.10 Pull at Joints and Terminals

FPN: Some methods of preventing pull on a cord from being transmitted to joints or terminals are knotting the cord, winding with tape, and fittings designed for the purpose.

Al,

Heyco also makes the tools, to crimp the c type, and molded bushings. Heyco is one of the largest suppliers to lighting industry, they make a lot of special products that are not listed in the catalog.
