I was just wondering, and have never ran across the peak value of a 480V RMS voltage.

The peak value of a single phase 120V RMS voltage is = 120 x sqrt(2) = 170V.

What is the peak value of a three phase 480V RMS voltage? :?

Thanks,

Wouldn't that be for a single phase 480V RMS voltage? Doesn't the three phase and the overlapping voltages add to the the peak?

Thanks,

Regardless of how many phases, each waveform, whether line to line or line to neutral is a sine wave. That mrsnd that the peak to RMS ratio is always 1:sqrt2.
