What is VA?

Hello all, sorry if this is a REALLY ignorant question, but I'm studying for Low Voltage exam and reading "Understanding Low Voltage and Power-Limited Systems".

For instance, on page 5 it says "Voltage and Power Limitations. Power-limited fire alarm circuits (inherently-limited) can be up to 100V and 100VA." (in regard to Article 760 Fire Alarm Signaling Systems).

Is VA simply Volts x Amps?
