Seems others have posted CA history here, U might use a few choice words and see what shows up via search, here.

Test is on the 2002 right now.
it's not so much the year as it is knowing how to navigate through the book.
If you know how to navigate the NEC, you can look up every question and still finish early.

When I put my money in it was the 99, when I went in to take my test they gave me an 02. I was thinking this is not good, I borrowed a 99 to study because all I had was an 02 book. I have heard they give you the option of the 99 or 02 but they didn't ask me they just handed me an 02.
They were only a few things that I knew exacty where they were in the 99 and not in the 02 I didn't spend the time to look at the changes that they list in the book as I was pretty sure of those answers. With that being said I don't think using the 99 to study and taking the test with the 02 really hurt me at all.

Try to find out the firm(outfit) that actually gives the exam for your state.And ask them.robot said:i was wondering if anybody can tell me what nec book to study for the california electrical exam?? and if they are going to change books for the exam anytime soon.
