Can a town adopt an edition of the NEC before others?
Can a town adopt an edition of the NEC before others?
...forgot to mention ~ as of TODAY...we are still on the '05 as amended by the State.
I heard from a reliable source that a town in Northern NJ was illegally trying to enforce the 2008 NEC.

one would think that somewhere in the entire town of Old Tappan, there is at least one person smart enough to say "hey, you can't do that"
but apparently, I give people way too much credit...
He then gave a warning to be careful if you're going to do work in that town.
:-?
The EC should be "careful"?
What about the EI?
He should be removed.
How can he attempt to enforce a standard that hasn't been adopted ~ especially when the amendments have yet to be published/approved?
It may been a "minor" change he was trying to enforce...or it may have been a "costly" point.
Either way - it's abuse of power.
I agree. It is possible that he just made a mistake, although I would hope that someone in that position wouldn't be so uninformed.
I understand the diplomacy angle - but we all [me, you, him, anyone reading this, etc] know he invented the date NJ accepted the '08 and attempted the enforcement.
This sort of things really irritates me.
That would irritate me too. My first action would be to call Trenton before I left the place.
