What professional affiliations / memberships are you associated with?

Over the last couple of years, I have been hit up by just about every possible (or so I think... until something new comes along) professional association there is.

What assocaitions are you a part of, and which ones do you think help you the most?

Examples: BBB, The Chamber, NFIB, IAEI, IEC / IBEW, etc...

In addition to the IAEI, I am also a member of the NFPA, ICC, LPI, and BOAF.

I find the more local the association, the more it is valuable to me.

I am a member if the IAEI, ICC, NFPA, WCLECA, PCECA, DCECA, NYSBOC & WCFMA.

I attend all of the monthly meetings, except for the ICC

I've held membership in quite a few organizations, i.e., Fire Marshalls Association of North America, New York State Fire Chief's Association, Essex County Fire Advisory Board, IAEI, NFPA, BBB, NYSBOC, ICC, IBEW, Northern Adirondack Code Enforcement Officials Assoc., ad infinitum....but lately they've become so expensive that I've dropped many.

I belong to IEC and AOLP although I can never make it to any meetings. Young kids, every sport under the sun.

One of the only reasons I maintain membership with ICC and NFPA is due to the fact that my employer pays the renewal fees. Otherwise, I would likely only keep the local associations up to date.

Local chamber of commerce, and NFPA. I've gotten a couple of jobs from the chamber, but I think I value the knowledge gained from NFPA more than those jobs.

It does seem like everbody wants a piece of our pie, though.

BBB, NFPA and the local chamber of commerce. Also the American Legion, The VFW and Moose International. I try not to stay too busy with my charitable activities but I get overwhelmed, and I guess I love it.
