would someone help me calculate the size main I need on a 16 unit apartment building- 10k.w heat, electric water heater, electric range in each unit-12724 total sq. ft.

Could you do a load calculation according to Article 220, and then allow us to check your numbers? There's a lot more to it than the information provided.
