What subpanel to use

For you average basement remodel when you decide a sub-panel would be the best option, what do you guys like to use? 50a with #6AL? Any other ideas out there? Seems 100a with #3 or #2 CU is way over kill.

Figure your loads, then figure out what sub panel you need. Sure, 50A should be good for the avg panel, but add a HVAC, spa, water heater, and even 100A wouldnt cut it.
