Any thoughts on this temp. service? BTW, this is not the way to do it in the POCO handbook.

I've gotten exceptions from the lines engineering designer to use all sorts of otherwise nonconforming temp poles. One lot in particular was all ledge rock, so the temp pole was built more like a tripod sitting on the ground with a skid of cinder blocks loaded onto the base for counterweight. That's not in their book either, but just fine with the engineer for a construction power pole.

How about vegetation shall not be used for the support of electrical equipment.

I made that article up. The 225.26 article states that overhead spans cannot be supported with vegetation.

225.26 Vegetation as Support:Vegetation such as trees shall not be used for support of overhead conductor spans.

I think vegetation can support Electrical equipment, just not overhead conductor spans.

That isn't "vegetation" that's the freaking tree of LIFE. Funny, it can't support a span, but cut it down and mill it into 2 houses worth of lumber and furniture, and it's ok to support anything...

Its not ,the tree is supporting the pole

Is it just me, or does it look like you need to be 7'-8" to read the meter (once it gets moved from being wedged between the pole & tree and into the socket)?

O'yeah, its pretty tall, but the job has to be done by memorial day anyway, lake rules, no construction after that, were not allowed to re use an old meter on a new service, but the meter is hot with jumpers installed.
