What to specify for low voltage power supply

I've been presented with these sliding doors that have a magnetic holder. The power requirement on the part is 12-24, 60mA, 12VDC and120mA at 24VDC. So, first off, how's that work? If you power it on the high end of the voltage range you get a stronger electromagnet?

In any event they are looking for us to specify a power supply. Seems simple enough and I know I could make it work. Yet I'm hesitant because I never specify low voltage stuff. And while I'm assured this is not life safety or critical or fire alarm driven, it is nevertheless a hospital. Bottom line, I'm looking for a suggestion on what to specify. I would very much appreciate any input you might have.

Incidentally the magnet is by Assa Abloy. They have not been any help.

Yep, along with more heat.

Wall wart, DIN rail, enclosed chassis?
 
I'm thinking of going with this - what do you think?

At each sliding door provide 120VAC Normal Branch power from nearest Normal Branch receptacle circuit. Provide 120VAC to 12-24VDC, multi-tap, minimum 3A power supply (equal to Circuit Specialist PowerSupply1) in ventilated enclosure (equal to Hammond). Provide 2#14, 300V, Plenum CMP cable, for connection to magnetic door holders. Length of low voltage connection not to exceed 30 inches.
 
Are the magnetic holders to be initiated by the fire alarm to hold the doors open during egress ? If so , the PS with need a fire alarm input. What initiates the door being held open

I'd go with one of the Assa Abloy power supplies.

If i had to do a custom din rail mount, I like the "phoenix contact" power supplies.
 
Look at Altronix power supplies
They have good options with/without fire alarm inputs.
Used them all the time in hospitals i covered.
