What would you do? 2 Service Magic customers. first one has a moduler home already in place someone ran a 3"pvc stubed 8 inches from the inside wall that has to connect to to an outside meter pan some how is suposed to be a 320 amp service 2(200 amp panels)want under ground service about 160' from home looks to me like he was trying to do the work him self ie wants me to do AC/out door recessed lights stuff over his head.Service magic customer #2 "addition sheetrocked wants someone to take over because contractor is taking to long I told him id pass I didnt want to be responsable for someone elses work.

Why do so many people compalin about being asked to do work? Isn't that what we do to make money?

Calculate what needs to be done, then present them with a price.

Give a price that's high enough that, if the guy says "yes," it's enough that you don't mind doing it.

I personally dont like service magic. I tried them for a couple of weeks and wound up paying them for nothing. And you have to haggle about the charges constantly otherwise they try to charge you 75 bucks for what the call a renovation to a room when all it is is adding one outlet for a washing machine. Didnt work for me but some guys swear by it. For a while I was using another service call Bid Clerk. For 50 bucks a month you get to scroll through scores and scores of possible jobs. IMO a much better trade off. And it was good for me in the beggining to keep me busy on slow weeks.

I agree bid the job right and be done. But why are you getting sheet rock calls when you are and electrician or are you a handyman doing electrical?? and in Jersey you need CT for 400a and a 320 a meter pan dose not cut it. I seen it before but not allowed checked many times.
