I'm just wondering what the best bang for the buck deal out here on the Mike Holt site for helping me to get ready for the exam

I'm going to taking the master contractors/electrician exam

I'm in my 4th year of night class at vocational where we have been studying the NEC 2005 but still need to get with a company for one year full time work before I can get to taking the exam and that means finishing college first which will take a good 2-3 years from this point

My advice is to answer as many practice questions as you can. Somewhere around 1,000. Mike Holt offers free quizzes and also sells a many books with questions. The only way to get proficient at answering code questions is to practice by answering code questions.

My only advice is that if you buy a Mike Holt Exam preparation book, is that you make sure that the answer sheets are included. It doesn't do you much good if you take a sheet of paper and answer all the questions if you can't check to see if you got them right.

Dave85 ,

Speaking from experience with Mike Holt's gold mine , you could throw a rock blind folded and in the wrong direction , and still get struck with genious.

But to answer your question I would have to say the best bang for the buck is definetly Understanding th NEC volumes 1 and 2.

Hope his material can serve you as well as it did me.
